Lovely, quiet location a short walk from the city center. Rooms are comfortable, thoughtfully-appointed, luxurious, but understated. Hosts are friendly and approachable but they don't hover. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of options and wonderful porridge!

We had a fantastic stay. The rooms are lovely, and the extra touch of a whisky in the room was great. The hosts are lovely. Really helpful and make you feel so welcome. The breakfast was fantastic (we seriously wished we had more of an appetite at breakfasts cos that’s the nicest one we’ve had in a long time!).

The location is great. An easy walk into town. The dolphin sight seeing boat is great fun. We had a few amazing meals. We highly recommend the River House, Rocpool and Aspendos.

This is the best B & B we have ever stayed in, we can recommend it to anyone. The owners have thought of every requirement the guests could possibly need. The room was great and the en-suite was superb, the bed was really comfortable. The choice of menu for breakfast could only be found in a 4-star hotel, it was excellent.

The location was very convenient for exploring Inverness with walks into the city centre from the property. Connections to the national road network were also excellent.

Excellent hosts and facilities. The breakfasts were first class. Wish I had tried the oatmeal. One of the few places we have stayed that has Kleenex in the room. Yea!The Scotch whiskey is a nice touch.

We liked Culloden Memorial and Fort George. The Inverness Museum is also quite good for a rainy day. Don't order the shrimp scampi at the restaurant across the street, It's all batter and little shrimp. Walk to the restaurants down by the castle.

Of all the places we stayed in Scotland, Lynver Guest House most closely resembles a standalone residential home. However the size of the rooms makes you feel like you're in a large master bedroom accompanied with a large, modern bathroom. The quality of the furnishings and amenities and comfort of the bed were all top-notch. It's what I would aspire for if I were designing and furnishing a room for myself. Everything felt very new and well-maintained. The room is well-insulated and made our stay quite peaceful. I enjoyed walking in the area just to see locals going about their daily errands. Breakfast was a real treat. I definitely recommend trying the Bannock bread with bananas at least one morning. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. They were good about replenishing items in our room such that we never had to ask for anything. While the travel books didn't particularly recommend Inverness as anything other than a stopover, we're quite glad we chose to spend a couple nights here. It was a nice break from the hecticness elsewhere and made you feel you were more part of everyday Scotland.

Lynver House is located in a quiet, residential area near the city center. You can walk to the pedestrian areas (Church St, High St), as well as the river in about 10 minutes. There you can find many restaurants, pubs, and shops. For a treat, if you're into whiskey, visit The Malt Room off of Church St and try one of their many flights. Another suggestion: do the river walk (the hosts can give you specific directions). Start at Ness Bridge then head left going south along the river then cross over when you get to the islands, it makes for a pleasant outing. Along the way, we stopped at Contrast which is in a tiny hotel (Glenmoriston) along the way for one of the best meals we had our entire trip.

We spent a week travelling round Scotland and stayed in 7 different hotels and this was by far the best. We had our best night sleep here in the large comfy bed. Room and en-suite was very clean and spacious, providing everything needed. Breakfast was also the best we had all week. Our hosts were a lovely couple, providing any information needed on the area. Also, safe off-road parking. Highly recommended.

Urquharts resturant very good food and good priced, would need to book a table as when we were there it was fully booked, and they had to turn people away. Early evening menu at the mustard seed is also very good and well priced, but you need to book.

We stayed at this B&B during our trip to Scotland. The experience was wonderful. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The bed was large and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and kept. Bryan and Michelle are lovely. The attention they provided made we feel like home. Breakfast very varied and quality. Great Scottish breakfast and porridge. I would love to come back.

There arent enough numbers for the rating! Brian and Michelle could not possibly be more accomodating! Rooms are spotless, breakfast was wonderful, helpfulness was excellent! Dont look anywhere else for a stay. Just call them.

This is near many restaurants, shops, etc. just a very short walk from the main route of them.

We felt very welcome by Brian and Michelle! Thank you for the cozy stay! The house and the rooms are very clean and the location is superb - after two right turns you are already standing in front of the castle. The breakfast was very yummy, particularly, Michelle's home-made porridge - delicious!

Very welcoming and friendly, lovely facilities, an excellent bathroom, very comfortable bed and a great breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay - a fitting way to end our Great Glen Way walk with comfort and a little luxury. Oh and fresh milk was provided for tea - these nice touches make all the difference...

The Mustard Seed is recommended - excellent food, service, atmosphere and value for money. The Great Glen Way is a lovely walk - even better if you use one of the bag carrying companies - money well spent.

Lovely hosts, we felt very welcome. Excellent breakfast, much to choose from. Fridge with fresh milk and waterbottels. Everything was very clean. Wifi and Skytv worked excellent. Highly recommend!

Inverness is a great city. Has everything and nice surroundings. We ate at Number 27 Bar and The Castle Tavern, can recommend both.

We cannot recommend this property enough. Fantastic friendly welcome, room was the highest standard I have ever seen at a B&B and Michelle and Brian were helpful and so very kind. Wonderful stay in a perfect location. Brian and Michelle were very hospitable, so welcoming and warm. The breakfast was out of this world, there were so many choices, freshly cooked with local produce. The ensuite was a good design, with a good quality shower. Our bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping in a cloud. The easiest place we have ever stayed in a very long time. We felt incredibly spoiled.

It was perfect. You were very welcoming and informative. It was great to be able to leave our motorbikes in the garage. Room was lovely, big, immaculate, with a large, comfortable bed. Loved the small fridge with water and fresh milk. Shower was great. Large, thick towels. Good wifi. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice, including the smoked trout! Ideal location.

This b and b is superb. All the little extras such as roses in the room and a mini fridge with fresh cream make it a step above the rest. The shower has lots of water pressure, the towels are luxurious and the bed very comfortable. It is a 10 for being clean. The hosts go beyond to give information on surroundings. You can walk to town from here.

Enjoyed the Castle Tavern for dinner. Fort George was very interesting.

2nd May 2017:

Lynver is an excellent B & B. The cleanliness and facilities are second to none. The house is very tastefully decorated and the owners, Brian and Michelle go out of their way to make you feel welcome in their home.

Being only a 10 minute walk from the city centre, there are several very good restaurants close by. Two in particular are The Kitchen in Huntly Street next to the river and Riva an Italian Restaurant just along from The Kitchen on Ness Walk. We were given a voucher by Michelle for a free glass of wine for both! If you like wildlife, a trip to Chanonry Point is a must to see the dolphins.

Great welcome, happy to assist with any enquires. Only place I have ever been to that when I advised I had a water allergy, offered to supply mineral water to make any hot drinks I required, instead of having to supply my own.

Fabulous 5 star B&B, the rooms and facilities are beautiful with everything you could ever wish for. The breakfast like everything else is super. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Inverness.

The Kitchen in Huntley St in Inverness is within an easy walk and has great views over the river and Castle. Food and service good.
