Our party of 4 has stayed at a number of B&Bs now over the last 3 weeks. This one was excellent with a friendly, very helpful host and the rooms were especially comfortable. There were a lot of choices for breakfast, which we found delicious. The location was close to the town, though not needed as only staying overnight. Being Sunday, we found the CCC church close by, so decided to attend the evening service. (They were very warm and friendly, and felt at home with fellow believers.)

As we had to delay our arrival for quite some time, Garry waited for us patiently and provided a warmest welcome on our arrival and explained everything we needed to know. We stayed in Drumdale for one night for going to a concert at Eden Court. On arrival we received a lovely welcome, which was followed by a general chat and asked if we required assistance/recommendations for the local area. It was clear to see that each guest is welcomed and there is a genuine interest in why they have chosen Drumdale, not just a here’s your key, room is upstairs, see you at check out. We were in the compact double, which although advertised as being one of the smaller rooms was ideal for our requirements, it has been well thought out with some space saving features. The en-suite was well stocked with the essentials, even down to the little pots with cotton buds and cotton pads, not something we required to use but often something you forget to pack! The bed is very comfortable, pillows a little soft for our liking, but our preference is not everyone else’s and certainly didn’t cause for an uncomfortable sleep. Breakfast, well that is second to none! My partner went all out on the cooked breakfast choices where I opted for fruit and yoghurt. The dining room has a homely feel and is set out with all you need to enjoy your breakfast in comfort. We sat down to a lovely welcome from Isla, which just made our morning as we get the exact same welcome at home. Breakfast was served at our time given on request and was just wow! Perfectly cooked breakfast and beautifully presented fresh fruit. Oh can’t not mention the home made granola bars, fortunately for me that’s a far too healthy option for my partner so I got both, yum! We would definitely stay again and will highly recommend.
Tips:We chose Drumdale as it was close to Eden Court and only a short walk from the centre of Inverness. Away from the centre but not too far away

My usual annual stay at Drumdale for the etape Loch Ness. Would never go anywhere else. Gary and Debbie are excellent hosts. Will go out their way to make your stay as best as it can be. Gary was happy to cook his LEGENDARY breakfast for me at 5am on a Sunday morning! Could not ask for more. The rooms are fabulous will plenty of little 'extras' like biscuit/teacakes in room along with bottled water and tea/coffee facilities, super fast Wifi etc.

I wish I was staying two nights! I was so comfortable, and the place was so lovely, I wish I could have enjoyed it longer. The room was spotless, and the little touches, from the art on the walls to the little dog that matched the throw, to the Tunnocks Teacake, were all perfect. The linens were especially nice. I covet those sheets! So soft! Breakfast was perfect. No notes. Excellent hosts, that were a pure delight to speak with. I will absolutely be back

We had a wonderful 3 day stay at Drumdale B&B, it has a real home from home feel, the welcome was great especially from the friendly family dog. Our room was spacious & bright with a very comfortable bed, a sofa and a TV. The breakfast is delicious and the menu is superb with a good selection to pick from.

I loved my stay at Durmdale BnB. It was close to the train station - maybe a 5-10 minute walk through the city center, over the river Ness, and with a view at the castle. So arriving there already felt like sight seeing. My room was clean, tidy, and nicely furnished. It also had everything I needed, with tea and mugs directly provided in the room and shower gel / toiletries. Breakfast was amazing! Debbie and Gary were accommodating and such lovely people. I can recommend wholeheartedly.
Tips:I ate twice at 'Encore une fois', about 2 mins away from the BnB. There were many other restaurants, but I really liked the first dinner there, so I decided to go back. It is a place where locals eat/drink as well and that is always a good sign. If you're there for only 1 day, make sure you go on a sailing trip on Loch Ness (I went by boat to castle Urquhart, it was great! Public transport is a bit tricky, though, as the bus timetable on Google was outdated. Make sure to contact/look up the times on Citylink, who run the service number 919 out to Clansman Hotel, where the harbour for the castle sailing trips is located) and visit the local second-hand book shop Leakey's, which is in an old church and beautiful – both for browsing older books and maps, as well as for the view and the pictures.

Breakfast was amazing with a large choice and sets you up for the rest of the day, this is for sure a gem that is hidden away Thanks for a wonderful stay and hope to see you all again soon
Tips:In the Hallway of the B&B there is a blue card that gets you 20% discount at the restaurant just round the corner us it, the food is amazing There is a walk along the river to the Ness Islands and you cross over and walk back on the other side well worth it Don't be fooled by Google the B&B is a lot closer from the Railway station than it looks

The Drumdale B & B felt like home! Only it was better than home because we were served an incredible breakfast! The service and hospitality are over the top exceptional. The ability to anticipate our needs before we even knew them ourselves is a rare gift that greatly enhanced our stay. Our hosts were thoughtful, flexible, accommodating and wonderfully communicative. The rooms are lovely and charming and the beds are very comfortable. I would absolutely book again (and in fact I did!!). Thank you for two wonderful stays from your absolutely delighted repeat guests:)
Tips:It is a short and gorgeous walk right into old town center just around the corner from the Drumdale B & B. The Drumdale’s location is ideal as it is peaceful and quiet, but so so close to everything! Tiger on the Wall is wonderful nearby for Indian food with a view of the river. The Castle Pub served delicious traditional Scottish food, and the server there bent over backward to accommodate us in their cozy small inside seating area. We wanted to go to The Mustard Seed but due to a change of plan we had to cancel our reservation. It got rave reviews tho!

A delightfully homely B&B with all the trimmings.. spacious room spotlessly clean offering tea & coffee with added extra of a Tunnocks Tea Cake (a lovely local touch) Gary was helpful when we arrived early to drop our bags giving tips on what Inverness had to offer. Breakfast was exceptional.. so many choices - absolutely no reason to choose cereal as fresh fruit and yoghurt, porridge and full Scottish was more than enough to satisfy. We chose the Smoked Salmon ( generous portion) with scrambled egg . This is a gem of a place to lay your head in Inverness, will definitely be back! Thank you Gary & Debbie
Tips:French restaurant (Encore)close by on Gary’s recommendation was a good choice.. we were luck to get a table booking as all the restaurants in Inverness get booked up way ahead. Ness Island walk, Jacobite Cruises, Stroll along the river are all lovely activities locally.

Drumdale Bed and Breakfast was everything we had hoped for! Very clean, comfortable and in a great location. Parking permit an absolute bonus. Lovely and quiet at night for a good nights sleep. We were able to walk to our dinner reservation in town as well as look around the many stores and shops. A beautiful walk along the river as well and all literally minutes away. Breakfast was delicious with large portions and right on our booked time too!! Friendly little dog to welcome us in the mornings which is great when missing our own pets. Would highly recommend to anyone
Tips:We went to Culloden Battlefield early - 9am as had read that was best to avoid crowds...so true! they were all arriving by the busload as we were leaving. Then on to Clava Cairns and again just missed the big groups. Ate at Hootenanny, and had read quite mixed reviews, however our experience was wonderful there: good food and great music from local musicians joining together for the night - every Sunday Night Coyotes was also good for burgers

Very clean and comfortable twin room. Drumdale is in a great location a short walk from the centre of town. The Breakfast was excellent with a really good selection to choose from. We arrived on motorbikes and Gary was kind enough to let us put them in his garage overnight. We would like to visit the area again and will certainly stay at Drumdale again

The place itself is in a very good location, away from a busy street yet within very close reach of the center, shops and restaurants. The equipment of the room is really above standard. In addition to the basic necessities for making coffee or tea, the owners also prepared a small sweet. The bed was beautifull and very comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean and very cozy. The accommodation offers a breakfast that almost took our breath away. You choose from an extensive menu the day before, and in the morning you have prepared gourmet experience on your table. We ordered full English breakfast (regular and vegetarian version) and the portion almost overflowed the plate. And how delicious it all was! Gary, the owner, was very attentive, kind and really helpful. It was a pleasure to meet him.

On tour of Highlands that included stops in three towns - Oban, Portree, and Inverness. Luckily the first 2 were just one night. Inverness stop was for two nights at the Drumdale. It was great and the only of the three places we would willingly return to with no additional thought. It was great and a real highlight of our excursion into the Highlands!

Tips:Gary recommended three restaurants , the first was fully booked ( Saturday night ) and so was the second (the encore ) however I told them at the encore we had been recommended by Gary and they managed to find us a table however we only had a two hour slot ( no problem ) food was excellent as was the service and when we had finished our meal we propped up the bar . Even better still the meal attracted a 20% discount courtesy of a voucher /card Gary gave us to present to the restaurant . Top B&B and a wonderful experience all round

Very clean and peaceful centrally located B&B. Room was cozy and with all the necessities. The B&B itself is within easy waking distance to centre town but is situated on a quite street. The overall ambiance was of a clean, welcoming establishment. The breakfast was excellent with fantastic service. I enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend this B&B.
Tips:Lots of excellent restaurants within an easy walk. Need to either reserve ahead or get there early in tourist season. Lovely walk along the Ness River. Lots of live music around town.

Literally the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in.A lovely stone built, Victorian gabled house, typical of Inverness, set in an attractive residential area. It was perfectly located in a quiet road, 2 minutes walk from the river and cathedral and 10-15 mins from the city centre and railway station. We arrived by train but they do have private off street parking.Gary and Debbie were very helpful even during the booking process to accommodate some special needs and their communication was prompt and clear. They even let us drop our luggage off several hours before check in time for our convenience. The welcome was warm and genuine. The rooms bright, clean and pleasantly decorated with comfortable beds and all en-suite. The breakfasts, oh my the breakfasts! They were outstanding. Wide choice, including a beautiful fruit salad artfully presented. Everything was cooked perfectly and to our taste. The presentation was perfect and the quality of the produce they use is apparent. Debbie and Gary know food and how to prepare it well. They were also on the ball with dietary issues and allergies. The perfect hosts. They had good recommendations for local eateries and even have discounts arranged with some of them. They demonstrated genuine care for their guests and In summary they are a fantastic example of the hospitality industry at its best. Unequivocally and enthusiastically recommended.
Tips:The Encore Restaurant for lunches and dinners. Relatively quiet modern restaurant. Food was very good, value for money and really good service. Strongly recommend ‘The Hop and Hop Off’ sightseeing bus service. Two different routes one of which serves a visit to Culloden and they are run hourly though the day. A £10 adult ticket buys you 24 hours travel and you can get on and off any time and it is much, much cheaper than local taxis which are eye watering ly expensive. There was bus stop for the Red Route bus just 3 mins walk from Drumdale and we used it to visit Dochgarroch Lock, a must see attraction, starting point for Loch Ness cruises and a beautiful, large, architect designed Caledonian Canal visitor centre with crafts and gift shop and superb cafe.If you’re there before 11:45 and hungry order the Stornaway Stack. Use the blue route and visit Culloden Battlefield. A very moving and eye opening experience. The visitor centre is impressive with ample parking, large cafe and a comprehensive, technically advanced exhibitions of displays and demonstrations typical of The National Trust (for Scotland). If you are able, walk around the battlefield using the careful placed and even paths which are wheelchair accessible. When we visited there was also a lone piper playing traditional Scottish and Irish jigs reels and skirls regularly throughout the day near the entrance. I’d advise travellers to book tables ahead pretty much all over Inverness as it’s a very popular and busy.

Located in a quiet street a stone's throw from the Sint Andrew cathedral and the Ness bridge, pretty classic house very well arranged and managed by two superb people. Calm and pleasant welcome, you immediately feel at home. Very nice room and well equipped with everything necessary. Breakfast served at the table, nothing is missing and everything is of high quality.
Tips:Between the house and the Ness bridge, on the main street or along the river there are already nice and good restaurants and/or pubs. Just cross the bridge to find yourself in the more commercial center and also lined with good restaurants and very pleasant pubs. I had an excellent stay and was made to feel at home, some real comforts provided after the adventures I’d had the previous two weeks. It was a fab location and took only minutes to walk down to the river for a walk, the town and nearby places for an evening meal. There was real pride from the hosts: an immaculate bedroom with treats to enjoy, an amazing breakfast and the finishing touch of a hot cross bun for Easter. I would definitely return to Drumdale b&b and highly recommend it to others. Thank you Gary, Debbie and Isla for making my stay in Inverness a special one. Melanie
Tips:Great walks down by the river Ness to the Ness islands with places to stop on route for a coffee. Popped to Encore on the next street for my evening meal as recommended by Gary and they had a great selection of food. Minutes walk into Inverness centre for a whole range of shops and things to do….. the highland coo trail included this weekend.

We already have recommended Drumdale to friends. Breakfast was incredible. Food was so flavorful and presentation was top notch. Service was on the money. Bed was comfortable. Location was close to so many attractions and the neighborhood is quiet. Gary and Debbie paid extra attention to gluten intolerance. We loved the sweeties. The only improvement I could recommend is we struggled to keep the shower warm.
Tips:We liked the Kitchen Brasserie with its great service and tasty food. Tomnahurich is only about twenty min on foot and spooky but has great views of Inverness. The stop for the 919 bus to Urquhart Castle is literally one block from Drumdale. The hike to Divach Falls near Drumnadrochit is worth the trek. We took the bus to Culloden Battlefield and it was on-time getting us to the fields, but 1 1/2 hrs late for the return to Inverness. Several people took taxis and this would be a good option if you don’t mind spending a little more money. Culloden was beautiful and we enjoyed it during a snowstorm. We got lunch at Culloden Moor Inn, only about a five min walk from the Battlefield. Generous portions and tasty. Spicy beef salad was huge and the soup of the day (lentil) was warm and filling on a cold winter day.

The room was big enough, very clean, comfy and welcoming. the bed feels fresh and good and there is ensuite bathroom with shower in my case. The Bnb is 5 minutes walking to the High street and the town centre, ideal location. Gary and Debbie were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is fantastic, really another level, not only in quantity and choice but the amazing quality and taste of the products, thank you very much. As I stayed for work, I had to do a video call later in the evening and the internet worked perfectly from the bedroom. All in all a great experience!
Tips:There are plenty of independent restaurants and pubs/breweries with Scottish beers and Ales. I was extremely happy with fresh mussels at McGregors, Cullen skink and Steak and Ale pie at Number 27, but there are plenty of other choices. Friendliness and great customer service here is another level. There is a local AMAZING proper bakery near the BnB called "The Bakery" great pastries and pies, and bread. Walking along the river comes to fantasy if you stroll up - in opposite direction to town centre- as you get to the Islands of the Ness with fantastic pedestrian bridges and a truly relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of pubs and places in Town with live music, great base to explore the Highlands! ( Or get a taste of it if you are just there for work).

Absolutely perfect stay. Fabulously friendly welcome and lots of unexpected treats. Best breakfast we’ve ever had at a B&B in 36 years. Perfect location for the city and the river. Only marked down because the shower in Room 4 ran intermittently hot and cold and because there were no USB points for charging phones, etc. Don’t let this put you off, it’s exceptional in every other way. Highly recommended!!
Tips:Take a day bus tour of Loch Ness with “Rabies’ tours. Wonderful low cost and entertaining day out; https://www.rabbies.com/en/scotland-tours/from-inverness/1-3-day-tours/the-complete-loch-ness-experience-day-tour Best places to eat are “Comfort Foods” (the ‘Highland Burger’ is fantastic and also “Prime” for a great mid-priced evening meal treat for a special occasion. I was so pleasantly surprised by Drumdale. It provided a perfect place to stay for my visit. Gary and Debbie are lovely, welcoming hosts as is Isla. Gary was informative, helpful and Debbie was friendly and chatty. The house was so warm and clean. My room had so many extra touches, the cute gingerbread men biscuits, the paper tissues, super soft towels. I was pleasantly surprised by size of shower room, not the cupboard I have had in other establishments. Breakfast was yummy, best porridge I’ve had in long time. Loved the crockery too All in all a great stay, superb value for money, I will definitely be back.

I don't remember a bed and breakfast where the facilities were kept as neat and well maintained as at the Drumdale B&B. Attention to detail, from the friendly hospitality to the orderly rooms and all the way down to the excellent breakfast, was outstanding. Highly recommended.

Beautiful B&B in an excellent location. The owners are a lovely couple, friendly, helpful and obviously put a lot of thought into their guests comfort and wellbeing. Tips:Drumdale B&B is within easy walking distance to all the city centre attractions and only a minutes walk from the River Ness, so you won't miss anything. My particular favourite places to eat were The Waterfront (gastro pub) The White House and Number27 (restaurants) Good selection of bus and boat tours to see a bit more of the local area.

Drumdale bed and breakfast was an absolutely beautiful accommodation for a night, although if we had been able to stay longer we would have. Everything was so clean and tidy, with little extras (such as delicious fudge), that really added character to the room. The location was perfect, a few minutes walk from the centre of Inverness, and yet still pleasantly quiet. The hosts were very welcoming, and the morning breakfast was superb. I would highly recommend Drumdale to anyone travelling to Inverness, and will certainly be booking them again in the future!
Tips:As we only stayed a night, having arrived late and left again early the next morning, we didn't really get to immerse ourselves in any of the great places Inverness has to offer, but I'm sure that you would be able to get to it all fairly easily.

Gary and Debbie could not have made us more welcome. It really was like being welcomed into their family for the time (4 nights) that we were there. The Drumdale is in an excellent location - almost in the centre of Inverness - yet you would not realise this because it is so quiet. Very easy walking distance to a variety of shops and restaurants. It is also a good launching pad for the Highlands - including the NC500. Parking on site is available at the Drumdale. Being a former chef both Gary and Debbie served up excellent breakfasts - with a good choice available. The cooked breakfasts were of excellent quality and generous portions. Nothing was too much for them - whether planning your day ahead or just conversing on other locally related issues. Our Double bedroom was tastefully furnished with all amenities available and on hand. The ensuite was also of a high standard. A great shower! In reality it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to find fault with this Guest House. We would not hesitate in staying here again or recommending it to friends and family. Thank you Gary and Debbie for making our stay so enjoyable.
Tips:There are a variety of shops and restaurants for all tastes. With a student population Inverness caters for all age groups. Be a little wary of the open top bus tour which is run regularly from the bus station. Not sure if it is entirely worth the £8 charge. However, it does provide a welcome change from having to do your own driving. Just watch out for the low branches on the early part of the route - even this was a bit of fun though! On the subject of driving, Inverness is the starting point for the NC500 - part of which we were able to drive along. Lovely scenery! Great walks available along the nearby River bank and parks. Although you can book boat trips they actually leave from a little way out of the city. Here's a great drive. Loch Ness - Go out on the main A82 road to Fort Augustus and then come back via the mainly (but very passable) single track road to Foyers. The scenery on this way back to Inverness is to die for! Can be easily done in a few hours or day with stops.

Tips:We visited in high season (August) and found it difficult to get a walk-in seat in restaurants, so would very much recommend booking anywhere you would like to eat. Tips:We ate at The Mustard Seed and The Fig & Thistle, each recommended by our hosts; each was excellent and less than a ten minute walk. Located only a couple of hundred metres from the river, walking around the area is a pleasant experience.

I was very pleased with my stay. I think it is better than some of the hotels I have stayed 8n in Inverness. A very comfortable room, and the breakfast was so,so good. I didn't really know where you are located but found it very convenient, easy to go out to a restaurant, go for a walk along the river, and near enough to the railway station. I will certainly try you first when I come to Inverness again.
Tips:I suggest a walk along the river as far as the islands, the views are excellent and in autumn outstanding. Restaurants on a Saturday night are usually full, it is necessary to book in advance. If you enjoy a walk the Canal is interesting also a walk along the river to the estuary.

Very welcoming couple run this b&b it has high standards of food and as much or as little freshly made for you. The room had all facilities for a comfortable stay, it is very central and barely 10 minutes from the town centre yet quiet at night for a good sleep in a comfy bed. I highly recommend Drumdale and know that Debbie and Gary will make you very welcome. They both have very good information on Inverness which is always handy. We will return when we can.
Tips:Ask your hosts they know all the good spots. There is plenty to see and do all around Inverness. Castles coasts, theatre and good music.

A lovely place to stay. The hosts are lovely, very friendly and offered advice and suggestions for our stay. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty to choose from on the breakfast menu so something there for everyone. Well situated for access to all pubs and restaurants. Definitely recommended.
Tips:Just a short walk from the B&B is the river Ness, you can walk along it to visit the beautiful Island Gardens, Bught park and Whin gardens. When you get to Bught park there is plenty to do, lots of sport on offer and the botanical gardens with a Cafe. Just near the B&B you can get a local bus to Drumnadrochit, next to Loch Ness and visit the Loch Ness Monster exhibition or a different bus to Fort Augustus or Fort William. The B&B is in a great location very close to the city but just far enough out to enjoy some peace and quiet.

The B&b is located on a quiet street near to the city centre. The room was very clean and spacious, with ensuite bathroom and equipped with all the comforts. The breakfast was also delicious, plentiful and varied. The owners (and their lovely dog!) deserve a special mention: they’ve been the most kind, taking care of us at their best in several different ways, like being always attentive to our dietary needs, keeping our luggage while we were travelling and allowing us to stay and pack our bikes even over the check out time. Myself and my husband enjoyed a lovely 2 day break at this guest house during our tour of Scotland. We received excellent service from the proprietors. They were warm and friendly, with a good knowledge of local facilities and nothing was too much trouble. Tips:There are plenty of restaurants and bars close to Drumdale (Encore, Castle Tavern to name but two). Fort Augustus is only a 40 min drive if you want to visit and fancy a boat trip on Loch Ness, the Marina is 2 miles away again if you fancy a boat trip (Dolphin Spirit) to see the dolphins. Ultimately, if you are unsure what to do or where to go, ask your hosts (Julie and Roddy) who will help and provide guidance and print you maps if you wish.

Julie is a wonderful host. Gorgeous house, beautiful rooms and extremely good breakfast. The house is five minutes away from downtown Inverness, which makes it all the better. If you want to feel at home away from home, definitely give Drumdale a try. Top marks, we would definitely repeat.

24th May 2017:
We had a very enjoyable stay. Julie was very welcoming and chatty. High grade facilities all round. Thank you for a lovely two days in Inverness. Breakfast was great. We would quite like to have had self-service fruit/cereal/juice as well as toast, and it would also have saved Julie having to wait on us so much.
Tips:Julie recommended Encore Un Fois for dinner, which is just round the corner. We ate there both nights. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly, with 20% discount from the recommendation, so it was a winner all round.

Owner Response:Thank you so much for taking time to leave a review - we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I note your comments about self service but serving my guests was a choice I made for a few reasons, not least of all was the space that it would take to do self service and the waste one can have from it. It was a pleasure to serve you and your friends from the first night. I trust you had safe and pleasant flights and were not too held up in Manchester and that you have now recovered from your Great Glen Way adventure. Kind regards - Julie and Roddy
